Longview Advantage, Calgary based high tech company, purchased by Vancouver investment group.
                                                                                                                       
January 23rd, 2007 - For Immediate Release, Calgary, AB – A group of Vancouver investors led by Mr. James Watt have announced the purchase of Longview Advantage (LVA) headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  The new ownership group is moving aggressively to exploit new markets while continuing to provide existing customers with the high levels of service LVA has become known for.

Immediately after the purchase, the group moved to retain the services of key employees who worked for LVA under the previous ownership.  Mr. Watt noted, “In this highly specialized market, we feel it is important to build a team of key personnel who understand the unique needs of our customers and our commitment to service continuity and consistency.”

To that end, the group is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Bill Quinney as President.  Bill Quinney brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the position. 

After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with a mechanical engineering degree, Mr. Quinney held various marketing positions with John Deere Limited over a 12 year period.  In 1976, Mr. Quinney joined Agro Equipment Ltd. (AEL), a John Deere dealership in Calgary, Alberta and became the President and General Manager in 1981.  Under Bill’s leadership, Agro grew to become one of the top producing dealerships in Canada while also achieving high customer satisfaction ratings. 

In 2000, Mr. Quinney sold his interest in AEL to pursue various advisory and consulting opportunities within the industry.  Most recently, his services were retained in a consulting capacity by the previous Longview ownership.  

Mr. Quinney is also active in various industry and community leadership roles.  Mr. Quinney was active in the North America Equipment Dealers Association (NAEDA).  In 1995, he was elected to the NAEDA Board as a director and, in 2000, was elected to become the 100th president of NAEDA. 

In 2006 Mr. Quinney was appointed to his second three year term on the Board of Governors of Olds College.  Olds College is one of Canada’s leading post secondary institutions specializing in agriculture, land management, and various other educational programs.  He was subsequently elected Vice Chair.
